Nicola & Simon have decided that the time is right to start to bring Simon’s Table to a close.
Although we are very proud of what we have achieved, having taken a long hard look at the business, we feel the benefits we have gained have been very much out weighed by the deficits we have experienced. We started Simon’s Table as a way of minimising the stress Simon experiences in the world due to his obscure neurodiversity. Whilst having more control over many parts of the business, it still meant he had to have contact with people and events he found extremely challenging. This resulted in a severe burnout at the back end of 2023 from which he is only just beginning to emerge from.
For many years people have been encouraging him to write a book about his experiences and understanding of neurodiversity but he didn’t feel the time was right, partly because we needed an income, which meant he was always too stressed to write, and partly because he felt the world was not ready for what he has to say. There is more understanding and acceptance now of neurodiversity so he is optimistic that his writing will be taken more positively and people will benefit from what he has to say.
Nicola will know be able pursue her love of music.
We are very proud of all our achievements since our first jar of Simon’s Marmalade hit the public’s tastebuds and we have learnt a great deal through the running of Simon’s table. We have met some very interesting people in the artisan food world and we would like to thank all those who have supported us from fellow artisan producers to customers and suppliers.
We will not be closing the business overnight. Our plan is to close it once our existing stocks have been adequately diminished. To help this happen we will be cutting some prices with immediate effect. We have plenty of stock of marmalade because we employed a sales consultant from 2022 who was going to double our turnover in 2023 and we made enough marmalade to accommodate that. He only generated the sale of 12 jars of marmalade in the whole of 2023. They have a long shelf life and mature with age.
We will also be selling off our production equipment, jars, bottles, packaging etc so if you think we might have something you could be interested in please contact us.
Thank you for your custom and support
Simon & Nicola
